UNCONVENTIONAL WISDOM
–Call your mother at least once a week…if not more. She’ll appreciate it. After all, she only spent the better part of her life raising you and making you the person you are…the VERY least you owe her is a call once a week.
–Smile at one stranger a day. When you are walking around in shops, or in the park, or even driving, smile at one person per day. You may make their day with a simple act of kindness — who knows.
–If you’re wrong, and you know you’re wrong, and you know what you’ve been through…admit it already. Don’t drag out the point. Don’t keep fighting it. Admit you’re wrong, apologize, and move on already. Trust me — you’ll get farther by admitting you are wrong than by fighting your point over and over again.
–Be kind to animals. They see far more than you think they do, and being kind to animals can go a long way in this life.
–Be good to your friends. Even if you don’t want to talk to them right this second, pick up the phone and talk to them on a regular basis. Like a peace lily, friendships need to be cultivated and taken care of. You’ll thank yourself later when you have a friend you can count on because you invested so much into them.
–Remember where you came from, and be kind to those from your background. After all, it was because you came from there that you are the person you are today.
–If you love her, tell her so.
–Conversely, if you love him, tell him so.
–Love is universal, regardless of who we are and what we believe. Love transends everything…so maybe we should spend a little less time hating on each other, and start loving one another.
–If all else fails, shake a hand instead of shaking a fist. People may forget who you are, but they will never forget how you make them feel.
–You’re only as strong as you think you are. The human will goes a long way…don’t ask me how I know, but the human will goes a LONG way.
–Life isn’t always beautiful…but its one amazing ride. Appreciate every day, for who knows how many we have left?
–Never look back with regrets. Look forward with lessons learned. And be better for what you’ve gone through.
–The day you stop learning is the saddest day of your life. Because there’s always something to be discovered in life…you may not realize it, but there certainly is.
–And above all…laugh every day. It doesn’t have to be about anything major, or anything along the like. But laugh at least once a day — you’ll feel better, I promise.
Good reminders!
